Peer Editing
is working with someone in your class or your own age to help improve their
writing. According to the Peer Editing video on YouTube, the best way to
approach peer editing is to have a positive attitude and I agree.
I believe that peer editing would be more comfortable for the person whose
writing is being edited, if the editor is nice about it.The Peer Edit with Perfection Tutorial slide show gives a lot of good ideas that editors should
use. Editors should start off by giving compliments, stating what they like
about the writing and what the writer did well. After giving compliments, the
editor should then make suggestions on how their peer could improve their
writing. The editor should also be very specific during the suggestion process.
Lastly, the editor should make corrections on punctuation, grammar, sentence,
and spelling mistakes.
In EDM 310, I
will use the suggestions stated in the Peer Editing video and the Peer Edit
with Perfection Tutorial slide show when editing my classmates blog posts. I
will give compliments, make suggestions, and also make corrections on their
writing. Most importantly, throughout the entire process I will keep a positive
attitude and think about how I would want to be treated during the peer editing
process. The importance of peer editing is so that writing will be improved. I
believe with using these steps writing will be improved tremendously.
Yes, keeping a positive attitude is very important!
